Welcome to Science class. I have been teaching junior high science at St. Louis School for twelve years. In science class we cover a variety of topics that include all of the areas of science: Earth Science, Physical Science, and the Life Sciences. I am very excited about the new school year.

I have lived in the Oldenburg area all of my life. I graduated from OA and went on to graduate from Xavier University with a bachelor's in Elementary Education and endorsement in Science. I also attended Ball State University to earn my graduate degree in Learning Disabilities. I have continued with my education by taking mentor training through the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. This will allow me to assist any new teachers that begin teaching here at St. Louis. I am also a chairperson on the Accreditation team for the school. I am currently accumulating continuing credits being a part of school visit teams for North Central Accreditation as well. I serve as co-chair at all of my visits. With North Central, I have the opportunity to visit schools all over the state and evaluate them. This is a great learning experience for me and I have brought back many ideas to share with other teachers.

The main change that has occurred in science last year is that Science fair is only mandatory for 8th grade. Sixth and Seventh grade can also complete science fair but it will be for extra credit points.

I hope everyone has a great school year! Welcome back!
