My name is Dala A. Vonderheide, and I am the EBD (emotional/behavioral disabilities) Resource Teacher.
I earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Elementary Education and am licensed to teach the Seriously Emotionally Handicapped.
I have been teaching for 36 years (eleven in First Grade, fourteen in Fifth Grade, nine in the area of Special Education). The children are the key to my longevity! Everyday in education brings new and challenging opportunities to practice my skills. I currently serve as a Resource Teacher and work with those students whose social skills, emotions, and/or behaviors get in the way of doing their best academically. I love my job!
I am the mother of four children, Amy & husband Tony, J.D. and wife Andrea, Jeni and fiancé Michel, and Keevan. I am also the grandmother of three beautiful granddaughters, Hope, Mia, and Lilah.
I live between Batesville and Oldenburg. I am a member of St. John's United Church of Christ where I have directed our Bible School program, am a member of the Chancel Choir, and sing in the Easter Sunrise Service Ecumenical Choir. Fall and football are two of my favorite things. I also enjoy reading when time allows. But my most favorite thing is spending time with my family!
I look forward to working with you and your child this year to make it the best year ever. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at school (934-5701) or by email at dvonderheide@batesville.k12.in.us.
