Mrs. Vogel's SiteWelcome to Batesville Intermediate School Music!About Mrs. Vogel: New to Batesville Intermediate School in the 2008-2009 school year, Erica Vogel comes to us via a private school from Butler County in Southwestern Ohio. Erica will be teaching 4th and 5th grade General Music and Beginning Band, while also assisting with the bands at Batesville Middle School and Batesville High School. Mrs. Vogel attended The College of Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati, earning a BA of the Arts with a focus on Music Education. Before beginning her teaching career, Mrs. Vogel worked in the financial industry and in customer service. A native of Hamilton County in Southwestern Ohio, Mrs. Vogel resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her daughter. In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and volunteering at church. About Music Department: At BIS, the kids have already learned rhythm patterns, how to read music, and even how to play instruments.Currently, we are working on composition. It will be great to see the student's creativity at work and I can only hope that they share their unique ideas with others. Once the snow and ice has cleared, we'll get going on this and much, much more. In the future, fourth and fifth graders will be learning instrumentation with recorders. The opportunities that the children have to utilize these instruments is a gift that, as an educator, makes my job much easier and gives the students the tools to truly understand what music is all about. |
