Hello! My name is Sheryl McCreary, and I teach 6th grade Reading and Language Arts at Batesville Middle School. I want to share a few things about myself and my classroom.
As for myself, I have lived in Batesville my entire life. I am very proud of my community. This is my sixth year teaching at BMS. I previously taught first grade at Batesville Primary School for eleven years. My husband and I have two daughters who are our pride and joy. Madison is thirteen and is excited to be in the eighth grade at BMS. Meredith is nine and is proud to be a fourth grader at BIS. Educationally speaking, I graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1993. I received a bachelor degree in elementary education and endorsements to teach science, social studies, and language arts at the middle school level. Then, in 1997, I again graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a Master of Arts degree in curriculum and instruction. As for my classroom, it is a very special place to me. I work very hard to make it a safe and exciting place to learn. My students are very special to me, also. I give them my all to make them their very best, and I expect their cooperation and respect in turn. Not only do I have high expectations of my students, I also have high expectations of myself. My mission as a teacher is to face each day in search of a new challenge. I want to bring the best out of each student. I want to help my students become lifelong learners to be successful in school and life.
